Well, it passed

Then their opinions don't matter so much? This is an issue related to the US. I never voice very strong opinions on the issues of other countries, as I know very little of them. Most people who call the US' healthcare (the healthcare of two years ago) crap don't live in the US either. Funny.

What about me? Funny. What about Snobo? Funny.

How can we be sure of each other's nationalities? You might live in Russia or Angolia and pretend to be an American. This is getting so freaking off topic it's not even funny.

If Obama made jobs instead, people could afford these things. Also ,what do you mean about fire-fighters? I may be mistaken, but my impression was that hat was not on a federal level so much.

You have to buy health insurance, under Obamacare. It is not free, you have to buy it.

I propose that people actually get jobs so they can afford these things. You say they can't find work? That is because Obama is too busy spending $$$ on DESTROYING BUSINESS AND THE ENTIRE ECONOMY. His massive regulations and mandates will do more bad than good. small businesses cannot buy their employees insurance, necessarily, especially when costs will rise.
I believe the taxes you pay go towards the wages of fire-fighters. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though.

As for DESTROYING BUSINESS AND THE ENTIRE ECONOMY, what are you smoking? That's getting way off topic and while I do agree that making jobs should be high on the priority list, we're digressing here because it doesn't make Universal Healthcare any less of a good idea. 😛

I find it funny, that the only people opposing this live in the US, which does not have universal health care, and most people for it live in Australia/Canada/UK, which do have universal health care.
And yet those opposing it Americans have yet to come up with a reason to not bring it in other than 0Mg w3r3 l0s1nGZ 0Ur FR33D0M!11!!111one!11. Yes, because Australia, Canada and the UK don't have freedom. 😛

I live in Southern California.

Then have fun being government controlled zombies. I don't care if you are, so long as you like being controlled. and, here's my counter: "l0l 0mG 1 w4n75 73H Fr33 H3417h c4r3 cuz I D0nT w4nN4 By My53lF. l0l".

I haz reason why we shouldn't have ObamaCare. Listen closely, cuz it's important like.

IT IS SEVERAL TIMES WORSE THAN THE CURRENT SYSTEM.

I'm sure most of us are legit when we say we're from a certain nation...

Also an admin can easily tell if we were lying.

@canadiano: I'd almost bet money that none of the admins here would say, though.

SOME PEOPLE HAVE JOBS AND CAN'T AFFORD HEALTH CARE. I know that it's easy to hide behind your little "capitalism is the only way" attitude, but why don't you look at all the people who have died because the businesses you love so dearly wanted to play fast and loose with their lives to make a few bucks. While you're at it, listen to somebody besides FOX News.

Then if they can't buy it themselves, who will buy healthcare for them?

People shouldn't die just because they can't afford health care. The rest of the world has rejected that system. Yes, Cosmic, there are other countries on this planet that are thriving under the "commie" system that you love to hate.

Well here are some stats for you:

Beast Cancer 5 year survival rate:
United States: 85%
United Kingdom: 70%

Prostrate Cancer Survival Rate:
United States: ~90%
United Kingdom: 50%

Average Cancer Survival Rate:
United States: 66%
United Kingdom: 45&

*very loud cough*

That's because more people actually get treated there, Cosmic.

More people are actually treated in those countries, as Snobo said.
I don't think statistics are needed, it doesn't take a god damn rocket scientist to know that since the UK provides Universal Healthcare, more people are treated for cancer.
( also, before you start asking us for sources, maybe you should clarify where you got those from )

Yup, people from the UK and Canada and every other industrialized nation in the world with universal healthcare are government controller zombies. Makes absolute sense. I love how when you get beaten in argument, you stoop down to calling people zombies.

I am just using over the top examples such as "government controlled zombies" to indicate that you have less freedom than us. It's obvious I don't think it's as bad as North Korea, my point is that you lose a lot of freedom. And I don't believe I was beaten in argument, if you look beyond the petty arguments between teenagers who think they know everything, I would say that conservatives have won the argument. Most of you can even conceive the breach on our liberty here because most of you are from Britain, so don't really care about how it is done in other countries. To the rest, just think about it. The government had to resort to paying Bart Stupak TENS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS to get him to vote for this bill. They did dozens of back-room deals to get this health care bill passed. do you not realize that this was a massive breach of the american peoples' rights? The government clearly does not care what people want, as the approval ratings of congress have dropped to the 30% areas.
