WEP Key

I can't find my WEP key...i follow all the steps but when i go into my router only the passphrase appears. And when i convert my passphrase to hex that doesn't work either. How do I find my wep?

You should have written it down somewhere. 😛
I don't know how to find it, but i'd recommend resetting the router and making a new password that you'll remember.

This one's a router problem.

If you don't really mind resetting everything, most routers have some hole you poke which will reset the router altogether.

Do you mean the WEP password in your router?

I think you could find it in your router.

If your using the default WEP password which your ISP/router manufacture set you should be able to find it under your router.

Normally theres a default underneath the router. Should be there.

I even took the liberty to save my new WEP I made for my router on my computer lol.

i have written in like 5 spots so i never loose it.If you haven't set one yourself the the default should be in place.You could just call the maker of the router to find that out

The SSID is what you convert to HEX.

Some routers have them saved when you login. Try typing your IP into your browser and you should be brought up to a login screen that says your router's manufacture. I believe you will need an internet connection of some type to login so hopefully you have a hard wire somewhere or another computer.

If you didn't change your password and username from default, they are often one of the following:

admin
admin

admin
*blank*

admin
password

Than you may be able to find WEP key somewhere within.
