What about liars on forums?

to put it simple here is a real time situation:

A member who is a long time user on a webmaster site registered in 2009. Post now and then. Is some days very active then again a week not. etc ... But he starts a project (forum) 3 days later then wants to sell it. When its not going really good but out of control as people saying this and that. This member lets everyone know from his partner of that certain project his account got hacked on the site he joined in 2009.

While his account didn't got hacked but made that up to vanish, as the admin looked at the IP and it was the same IP all the time. No other IP was logged with the account.

So he did that to stay low for a while. So people forget his mess he did, ruining his rep on that certain forum.

He joins the forum again with a new account and everything goes easy like if your new. Nobody knows its hi so he can do everything a member can. Join forum to works as staff etc because his Neutral reputation is back.

Thats a situation that happens alot but what about those members on forums of any type that make u lies or excuses? Or like I have given a situation of.

Trow of all the wrong they did with starting clean-unknown?

If people think I'm going to start lying for them about anything, it's not going to happen. I'm not running all over Chatting Time or any other forum lying my rear end off saying a person's account got hacked when I know it didn't. If someone starts trying to get me to lie for them, I'll gladly show them the door. I'm not a liar, and I don't lie for others. Likewise, if someone is caught lying to me or a fellow staff member on my forum, the after-punishments could be pretty severe depending on what the lie was about. e.g., how severe the lie was. As often happens, though, on my forum we take incidents on a case-by-case basis. What we do for punishment for one person may or may not work on the next one, so it's basically a case-by-case basis. Always has been on any site I've had.
