In terms of their front end subscriptions, they seem to be priced about the same. I don't believe Claude does graphics and things like that though.
I'm playing with their API though, using an AI bot XenForo add-on. That is priced based on token usage, which varies depending on how complex the AI request is.
I guess it depends on your definition of an AI platform.
Although I have never felt inclined to use AI directly myself, in reality I interact with multiple services that rely on it. Search engines, streaming services, banks, online shops, smart phone apps, social media, the list is never-ending. We all use services powered by AI every day.
Why's that? Just curious. Do you have a moral dilemma?
I think it will get to the point where not using AI is negligent to a career, for most/many industries. I would just urge you to explore it because for my industry (tech & anything involving the internet or a computer), we will never hire someone who hasn't been using AI.
At this point many mainstream platforms have been available for free or cheap for years. It does become kind of necessary if you want to succeed online in a career or hobby, even if I hate saying that.
I feel like Gemini is very far behind a lot of the others. You should check out some of the other options to be honest. I use Gemini for quick things, but it's definitely not something I would put in top 3-5 models/platforms/services.
