OK so back in September I made a forum, called Awesome Nintendo. We were active had members posting and then we merged with a forum. We were even more active because we had active members from both places posting. We then changed our name and added a home page. Ever since we changed the name we haven't been very active. So I started promoting my website on Forum Poster, Forum Advertiser, and of course Forum Promotion. Not very many people read the topics and visit the website. Promoting hasn't done me any good... what am I doing wrong?

Some people find a website that they like the name of it, and it they see something they don't like then they will fade away and not come back. If there is something there that makes them feel non welcome then they will go away.

Maybe that is wa you lost the active members. There were all Nintendo fan and well they find out the forum is going be talking about more then Nintendo they left.

That's probably true. Any ideas to get new members.. promoting doesn't seem to help much.

That's probably what happened. Nintendo gamers are very loyal to the company. And when they're on a gerneral gaming forum; they have to deal with members who prefer another system and they talk about how bad the wii sux.

Same exact thing happened to another forum that did thei change as well.
