What do I do to boost activity?

Well you have the member base, 500 + members.

You need to give members a reason to keep coming back, release a new feature maybe, host a contest, think of something that will make members want to come back!

It's lame not letting guests view threads, how do they know if they want to register if they don't know what it's like.

Even members can't see what's new without logging in, maybe that's why they don't bother with it.
