I have a Yahoo Bot and a few other bots.

I can try to make them work or something but I need a Bot agent and possibly a bot IP.

I'm wondering, does my Yahoo bot increase my search engine rating on Yahoo when it visits my forum or something like that?

What can Bots do?

Also, I must say that FP is slightly turning me off with many of the things I'd like to use but can't as the post amount I'd need is 4 times (or 40 or more) what I currently have and it's for that very reason I'm here and at times it seems they just want the rich (those who already have big forums) to get richer and the rest of us just to go away.

Could anyone lower the posting requirements on the posting packages?

I must honestly say that I find the requirement of 200 posts and like 15-20 members a bit unreasonable as I'm trying to get more posts but it seems you're kinda telling me that I have to get a lot of posts to just order 3 posts.

Now if I were ordering 40-150 that'd be another story, but I'm not.

In fact, if I were ordering more than 10, it'd be another story.

I can post till I'm blue in the face on my forum, but people won't stay because they think, which is the case sadly, all of the posts are pretty much by me.

So how do I get more members and get more people in without having to spend a fortune on a TLD?

Not that I'm going to buy one until I get 10000 members. Otherwise it's not worth spending the money in my opinion.

What can I do to get more members?

I have honestly thought of asking the service of black hat SEO guys in my despair(not going to do it but I must admit I have thought of it) to get more spread.

I've tried putting a link to my forum in my signature in a forum that I'm very active in and have nearly 1200 posts in to get more hits and still barely anybody is joining.

Have tried submitting it to a Google directory and may have to wait quite a while for it to get there, if they even accept it as they seemed a little bit picky, not too much, but especially as I couldn't find a category that flat out fit my forum that they had in the categories, though I chose as close as I could find to what my forum's category is.

I've gotten sig and bubble ads here both and a forum review.

I had sig ads in the past but didn't get anyone during that time then.

My new domain name (all TLDs cost money though if you can find any free ones, tell me immediately so I can get one and hopefully get more members.)

What should I try now?

It appears that nothing is working.

Also, not trying to put down FP, just saying that sometimes I feel the cards are stacked against me.

Bots index your site so that means they take info from your site to the search engine and whenever someone types something in the search engines, your site will show up.

All bots do is index your website and submit the data to the search engine.

^ This. They will find content which helps with your pagerank as well.

I gotta make lots of these bots then! 😎 😎

But I can't write the code for them, not that I know how anyway, but I can give their IP if I can find them.

I think a few of the bots are preprogrammed in the site files. I can't add more, at least not directly, to those files.

Once I can announce my forum at Jedi Council Forums, then my forum might take off, but still, I'd like it to take off sooner than that.

They don't work like that 😛. They come from Google or whatnot, so they'll come when they come.

I already have a free domain. However I think I may have signed up, though it'll take forever to find out if I get it, for a free TLD.

Most of the free ones either require that THEY own the domain(which since I'm not sure if that means the website too I'm not getting any of that type) and/or that I have like 25 guests a day or something.

Since my guest counter I think is set to count how many were active in the past 5 minutes, and I can't change it, then that's not likely to happen either.

However, I think I mistakenly asked for a Belgium domain before realizing it and then asking for all the same site and all but with an US domain instead.

However, I do have a feeling that if I somehow got a ton of posts, I'd rise up the search engine and stuff all the same whether or not I have a TLD and an official site license.

I think it was JFK who said "If we are strong, our strength will speak for itself. If we are weak, words will be of no help."

I think he meant that if my site is good enough, it will get popular even without a TLD and an official license etc, and if it's not, all that fancy stuff like TLD's etc won't help either.
