After talking to my members they are happy for me to run adds on my forum, I'm presently getting about 29820 daily page views a day and I would like to know where is the best place to get advertising and indeed what adds?
Any help you can advise on here will be greatly appreciated!
Just signup for Google adsense and let them take care of what ads to show. In the mean time, study the layout of your site and inspect good placements for adsense ads.
Currently on The Moral Liberal, we have 3 ads that have clickthrough rate history on them. Those three are a Leaderboard Ad, 120x600 Tower Ad, and a regular 468x60 Banner Ad. The placement we have for them are, the leaderboard at the top of the page above the website, the tower ad in the sidebar, and the banner ad directly above the top of each article.
We earn the most with the Leaderboard ad, with the tower ad close behind in second. The banner ad could be doing better, if the leaderboard ad didn't come before it.
So, when you do put ads up, do some placement tests with the ads you want to use for a week per placement. So, if you decide to use a leaderboard ad, place it in the top of the website for 1 week, then the bottom the next, and see how those two different placements affects clickthrough rates, and earnings.
