I don't.
And I think it's a good way how to promote your forum. ANY site is good for promoting, including YouTube - if you are shown everywhere around the Web, you have higher chance to get visitors!

http://youtube.com/zonexboxvideos - nothing special on it at the moment, we're going to use it for gameplay videos, reviews etc once I can grab a Hauppage HD PVR

It got me a few members on my forum. ( about 1 or 2 ) The others were just visitors...

But, it's a good source of traffic if you can make good videos for the niche of your website.

You can use a forum Youtube account to comment on other people's videos and channels, and hopefully they read your channel description and click on your forums link.

Making a Forum/website tour video can showcase the best features and sections of your forum and its active community.

I didn't have Vegas installed so it was Windows Live Movie Maker

I recorded it with CamStudio

I notice not many description for videos, titles, tags and channels are not very well optimized. I saw a few videos on Youtube which said it is best to write a good description for your video which explain the videos plot very well, have 7-10 related tags, and a good title.

Also, doing video replies to more popular, but videos which are similars to yours can get you more views.

YouTube is a great marketing tool and a viable way to let people know about your site. I just started up a vlog at http://www.youtube.com/rottenpuppets as a way to help promote the site/forum. Doing a walkthrough of the site and its features is a great idea to show people what you got.

Youtube gets me a decent amount of traffic, and I can safely say that a rival forum got most of its members from YouTube. If you have the time to have a good channel, you can get a decent following.
