Bounce rate is the percent of visitors who see only one page on your site and then leave.

I was analyzing my Google Analytics data for December and I noticed that my bounce rate is a lot lower that I expected. I've managed blogs before and I've always expected bounce rates of 85% and higher, but here's what my analytics report for this month:

Very few people are leaving after viewing one page on my site, which makes me happy because it means I'm succeeding at engaging people.

Since this is the first forum I've tracked analytics for, I'm interested to see how mine compares to other forums.

How are your forum's bounce rates? Which acquisition type (referral, social media, etc.) has the highest and lowest bounce rate for you?

Google Analytics says my site's bounce rate is 19.72% (Nov 28, 2013-Dec 28, 2013 )

That's really good!

How's your bounce rate from search engine traffic? I feel like that would be highest for everyone because you have people searching for information that aren't necessarily interested in joining a forum.

When I owned Geeks Hut the overall bounce rate was 7%.

I'll have to look mine up. It's probably gone down since we were closed for a month. So I'll have to look it up. May be a tad off track like I said.

Does that vary greatly between your registered members and new visitors to your site? Why do you think it's that high?

That's really good. If your first time visitor starts clicking away at your site, you are certainly doing something right.
