We cannot help it sometimes when an emergency expense occurs and we had no cash or no way to pay for it. Most often, it is a hospitalization or medical needs. What to do when you have nothing in your pocket and you need to bring someone to the hospital for an emergency case? My recourse is to reach out for my friends who, I’m sure, would help me to the best of their capacity. With relatives? They are of lower priority in those cases.

I don't where you are, but here in Australia, healthcare is free, so in an emergence we go to the hospital and it is all free

This is a tough one, but certainly, emergencies should be free and it's especially terrible when kids die because the parents can't get healthcare (as one case was shown on Micheal Moore's movie Sicko).

I have a couple credit cards I could use if I had an emergency.

If someone is dying doctors are obligated to help regardless of income. However if you don't have an income high enough to afford medical costs you could look into welfare programs offered by your country. Beyond that keep money saved up just in case.

I have a savings account that I try to keep money in just for this reason. I call it my "rainy day fund". There is always some unexpected expense that pops up, whether it's a doctor bill or getting the car fixed or there is a something that needs repair on the house or whatever. What's worse is it normally pops up at the worst opportune time. So I always keep a little cash stored in my little savings account just for such emergencies.
