I am posting this thread in relation to the new law in our country. When I am driving and the traffic is heavy, I usually play a game on my cellphone and sometimes I surf the internet or open my social media account. But the new law forbids the use of cellphone by the driver even if it is on a traffic stop or heavy traffic situation. They call it anti-distracted driving law. But due to confusion, the implementation of the new law was suspended 3 weeks ago for further studies.

Now, back to the topic. What do you do when you are in a traffic jam? More likely you use your phone, right?

I just sit there listening to the radio, or talk to whoever is in the car with me.

After I'm done yelling at people, I'm normally on Skype.

I just sit and wait and look around saying, Yep! get back even more later and be on FP even more later. I was stuck for 3 hours once in traffic.

Listen to music or talk with whoever I'm with, though we rarely ever have a traffic jam here. The only time it really ever happens is when they're doing road construction/maintenance.

Hear a bunch of passengers complaining to me? Because I'm a bus driver! It's not my fault I'm stuck in traffic.

I check my messages. If I dont have any messages, I generally listen to the music 😀

* * I don't have a phone. If I had a phone I would not use it unless I had to make an emergency phone call. I get very upset with my kids who are driving, who text or talk on the phone while I'm in the car. I avoid getting in the car with them. I'm glad there is a law against it because it's a deadly distraction. A distraction that last for only one second can cause serious injury or cost lives.

I'm not speaking in theoretical terms. Tragic events have occurred because people couldn't detach themselves from a cell phone. Does somebody have to die just because another person had to check their social media account? I'm not scolding you. But you asked the question and I'm responding frankly and saying that you just struck a nerve and brought up a topic that upsets me!

In a traffic jam, people are even more irritated and impatient because they're stuck in traffic. There is a high probability that an accident can happen even with vehicles barely moving. How about using the time for reflection, meditation, thinking or just learning how to wait patiently? "You" is you, me, anybody and everybody. No matter how sorry "you" are that a tragedy happened because you were "distracted", you can't reverse the harm done or turn back the hands of time and fix it.

I listen to music, touch up my make-up, look around me, check to see if my car is super clean. If its a really long wait, I get out of the car for some fresh air.

You just have to tough it out. It's truly a test of maturity. However, though, having a cellphone or some GameBoy type device isn't really tough, though.

if you are the driver you have to keep your eyes open still, like an motorbike goes passed and see if he has enough space to get passed

What else can you do? Most of the time you just have to sit and wait and ride it out. What I do usually during traffic jams is I listen to music or radio talk shows to help pass the time.

Well, when i get caught up in the traffic, i usually bring out my phone and start playing games or start reminiscing about my miserable life and how to get my self out of the sh*t i always get myself in.

I ride my bike, so traffic jams, laws, and gas fill ups are of no concern to me.
