I just got a new phone and we had to go to ATT to get the esim set up because they had the old phone and the new phone all wrong online. Almost everything else was seamlessly transferred over since it's a Google Pixel, so that was nice. Some things still needed verification before I could log in, so that's a pain. Changing personalized ring tones is something else I've been playing with.
There are some minor things that I find aggravating like having vibrations on some apps when I shouldn't have any at all. Trying to find where to change all those types of things is a pain.
I've only ever had iPhones and the upgrade process has always been almost seamless. I've had to re-authentic financial apps but I don't recall any other issues.
What is a real pain with Apple is when they upgrade the operating system and bury single click operations under a mountains of sub-menus.
ooh I'm with you on that, but I was fortunate that the Pixels can transfer all the apps over and most of the data too. I didn't have to start with a blank phone, it felt like my old one, and so far I think there were 5 apps I had to log into again. Maybe 7?
Nothing ruins the new phone vibe faster than bloatware. And the worst part is those stubborn ones that won't let you uninstall them no matter what. Like, I’m never going to use you, why are you permanently stuck on my home screen?! So annoying.
I hate having to log back into social media apps. I often have to reset my password because I forget my old password over time. Thankfully now both Android and iOS makes it easy to carry over apps even if you switch from iOS to Android or vice versa. When I got my phone almost 2 years ago I thought I would lose my apps since I switched from an iPhone over to a Moto G. But lo and behold, my apps made it over to my new phone.
I also have a hard time logging back into all of my apps. All my apps will move over to my new phone with ease, but then I have to remember how to log into all of them. I end up having to reset my password a lot.
The thing that I really discomforts me about getting a new phone is having to migrate from the old phone. Having to log in to accounts on a new phone might require multiple authentication steps and that can be quite tiring.
If you own your phone outright and are able to use it for five years or more (My Redmi 10 is 6 years now), then migrating is epic 😛
Then again, migrating from one to the other nowadays is very easy, it's all cloud-based nowadays and so it detects your new phone and uploads your contacts right away
