What do you think about the layout on my forum?

Hello,

I am wanting to know what you think about the layout on my forum. I made it. It is based off of the base IP.Board theme with quite a few code edits.

I'm not a designer by any means. I just learned how to vector with the heart that you see on the layout and in the favicon. I'm fluent in HTML5 + CSS3 aka a coder. So, any help with the design aspects is greatly appreciated! I do own Adobe CS5 plus tons of brushes and just in case that is relevant.

New website, I got a paid theme this time. 🙂

It's peculiar.

I know that is an interesting response to give in-regards to a forum, but I promise you that at least half of the people that visit your forum will think the same thing, more or less. Not because it's bad, it's just ... peculiar.

Your forum's a general discussion forum, right? Out of curiosity, why do you call it Heart Box?

I liked the name when I purchased it and I didn't feel like purchasing a new one when I decided to open a forum. 😛

& It is not. It used to be but now it is a Self-Help/Tutorial/Q&A/whatever you wanna call it forum.

It has off-topic areas as you can see but they don't clutter up the "View New Content" page as I would find that annoying if I were wanting help or wanting to view other questions and possibly help other people out on their forum.

I don't really know. I don't think the theme's the problem. I like the theme. It's nice and simple, maybe something smaller on the side for the banner. Something like what Forum Promotion has, perhaps?

A heart. Then, the name and a slogan?

Forum Promotion isn't the first website to have a logo and a slogan on their banner. (try 5000th) Just something that gives an idea of what the forum is.
