We buy Blu-Rays as they seem to be more compatible with our TV than regular DVDs are. I wonder if they will become obsolete like regular DVDs are becoming. What do you think?

As Agent Smith once said to Neo in The Matrix; "You hear that, Mr. Anderson? That is the sound of inevitability!". Blu-Ray will fade into obscurity because technology, the Internet and most importantly, content will advance towards 8K and beyond.

I remember the day when they first came out and how much it would cost to get your hands on them. And the fact that you had to get a new player for them ;P I only ended up owning 10 Ble-rays and after awhile I still would go with normal DVD ;P

Nowdays however it's all streaming

As @Jack-o'-lantern said, it's all streaming nowadays, that an online purchashing/ownership.

I think Blu-rays will definetly got eh way of the dodo eventually, maybe sooner rather than later. As long as you have something physical like a tape/DVD/disc, there's always the potential for dust/damage and wear and tear.

I used to go all out with them buy them at expensive prices but these days it makes me wonder why I bothered... Blu Rays aren't as popular as they were and a lot of the stores in my country that sold them don't sell them anyway. Netflix, Disney Plus etc keeps getting a lot of new content.

U can't even sell them on for that much anymore

I have a good sized collection of Blu Ray. I still buy them every once in a while. Just not as frequently as I was.
