I had a little site idea.

I'm thinking of starting a service to help webmasters correct spelling and grammar issues on their sites, so as to make the sites more professional.

What do you think?

Couldn't see how a forum could be dedicated to just this, but I do see certain Promotional sites offer this as a service. 🙂

This would be a very good idea; however, you would want people who have perfectly flawless grammar to lead the service.

Likee ewe nad em?

ben, I would go page by page and proofread every bit of text. I will find errors, point them out, and tell the site owners the correct usages.

It could work. I know your grammar is good.

Would you charge people for the service?

Yeah I would. I've created a test topic in the Misc. Marketplace. I'll see how it goes, and decide whether or not I want to pursue the idea.

Sounds very time consuming?

As I'm a big Fire-fox spell-check cheat I'd let that do most of the work 😛

Not a bad idea. Do you have any idea on a price you would charge for this service yet?

$1 for 1 page.

$3 for up to 5 pages.

$5 for up to 10 pages.

It's all in my Misc. Marketplace topic.

For someone very proficient in grammar, it probably wouldn't take a very long time.

What if the client they are working with has terribly bad grammar and spelling, and for 10+ pages? Just trying to make decently sound descriptions or titles etc., would be time consuming, regardless of how proficient they are in English. The client could have 5000 words on a page, as opposed to another client with 100 words on a page. It varies, but can get time consuming, let alone there are other things to do than fix spelling and grammar.
