hey guys,

What do you guys use to SEO your site?

Do you use premade plugins, go about it manually such as directory submissions or go a darker way and use Black Hat methods such as SeNuke and xRumer?

Regards,
Jay.

Google Analytics, Backlinkwatch, and Google Keyword Tool. I never tried any SEO software as I don't see the point. I know my keywords. I build backlinks on a regular basis, add new content, and I see the results with the sites/tool I listed.

i use seo plugin and url friendly plugin and backlinking.

On MyBB: Google SEO with URLs turned off (uses too many queries). 500 for Meta Description length, and no users in the sitemap.

On XenForo: XenUtiles, which provides a sitemap of its own.

I just do...
I don't do anything other than promote, however I probably could be doing more things 😛

I can not imagine why anyone would want to use black-hat methods to do their link building with. It might be effective during the short-term process, but long-term it is not going to work out very well. Eventually the search engines are going to see what you are doing, and you are not going to rank very well at all. It is better to use honest link building methods that are going to last. (i.e. Blog Commenting, Directories, Linkbait, etc.)

I've used black hat for 3 years and I'm still listed and ranking up.

People get the wrong idea with blackhat. It just automates the process that you would do manually, that's all 🙂

There are rare cases where blackhat actually does work, but it is still not a good idea. Blackhat is going to get seen in the next year or two especially with all of the Google Panda updates. Why put your site at risk when you could just do the hard work yourself? Automation does not have the same feel to it as manual does. That way you can make sure every link, submission, and article are of the highest quality.

I don't use anything. 😛 Back when I was first getting our site back into google after our move, though, I submitted our site to several directories, and placed its link in signatures of other forums I was on. Since that time I've not done anything with SEO in mind, and as a result our SEO has kind of crapped out. XD Most of our hits are for irrelevant things. That's apparently what happens when you "let yourself go" in the search engine world. I would like to get us back on track in that department, but at this point it'd probably be a major cleanup job. I dunno. It's been well over a year. XD

What i did to save time to seo my site is to crate my own article directory and let anyone submit artilces in it. And at the same time, our links are in the side bar of the article directory.😀

It might just be good than hiring an seo.
