What Do You Use To Backup?

Right now I just use the Windows 7 backup system but find it to be very slow. What do you use for system backup?

I just manually copy and paste files to my USB external drive, or burn the files to DVD-R blank disc when I have important stuff to backup.

I don't use automatic backups.

I keep the essential items I need on external HDDs, that's about it 🙂

Thanks. I appreciate the advice. It's just that I like a back up so I don't have to download all my software programs again. 🙂

I run my backups onto my WD external hard drive. Also, I regularly just copy my files onto the drive so that I have them backed up and not zipped.

Have you tried http://clonezilla.org/ which is a free disk imaging software which lets you backup your operating system, programs, files, and all your settings by using the Clonezilla livecd.
