What do you want to see in a promotion forum?

I've not initially confirmed any of this but here's the question, what would you like to see in a promotion forum? Maybe new features or just something extreme, If I were to open a promotion site, what type of unique things would you guys like to see?

I thought it'd always be useful to listen to the Peoples Choice. as9

Definitely something unique because there are a load of advertising forums. A couple of promotion forums I've been on are definitely trying to find that something unique but it doesn't have the bang it needs, plus the huge amount of forums that were being made beforehand which involved a lot of promotion forums feel like a blur.

I feel like something small (i.e premium ad space for those who contribute) doesn't really make it work, however...

Promotion forum is already having unique promotion techniques and activities for websites. They already have unique methods from other regular forums.

I was half-way through Automating the "services" part of another promotion forum before I decided to sell it back to it's original owner.

Allowing people to purchase advertising services (like those on FP) through an automated system instead of posting a topic, waiting for a staff member to add it, manually removing FP$ etc; It was all handled by the system.

Things like this put forums ahead of their competitors.

A currency system that you can buy things with (from real money to items)
Automated services would also be something really cool to have.

I think the biggest thing is encouraging a community where people are willing to go out of their way to help each other build/ improve their sites.

A fresh collection of users here, majority of users on other promotion forums fed from/advertised on this one are from FP. Thus, the community will be same old and so will the content. Something that is somewhat impossible.

Other than that, custom features that you have though of. Don't try and feed off other people's ideas, because those ideas get noticed, they get used.

In regards to being creative with stuff like advertising that the user can get; I had given an idea to a person asking a question similar to this, yet he didn't take after the idea for some reason. The idea that I had mentioned, was that the one advertising service that would get more use from it, would be a network advertising service, where the person gets to advertise across a network of sites, that shows the ads in the same place on each site. That way, it wouldn't be just the promotional forum that the user gets to advertise on, it would be 2 or more forums that it will appear on.

The only way to get that to work, is to get a ad software that can handle distributing ads via javascript or Iframes, and putting it on forums you are admin over, or to see if other admins would like to take part in the service.

Yes. I co-Administarte a forum and we use a variety of different techniques to ensure we are different.
