This is in regards to staff training...

What do your Standard Operating Procedures look like? Do you have anything formal written up? With pics? Video?

Not something I ever really thought about for forums, which is weird because at work I have to make new SOP's every year.

We have a multi-page agreement that everyone was required to sign.

A non-disclosure agreement? I had to sign one of those back when I worked because we had government contracts and dealt with top secret chemical formulas that they didn't want in the hands of other countries (like China).

I normally have an onboarding period where I'll set assigned tasks and monitor progress. Complimenting that is both a "company"/website welcome and info pack or thread, and a role/team specific welcome pack or thread. I've found settling someone into your brand or organisation first, is always better than rushing to 'put them to work', which totally bypasses any sort of culture sync

I really only have one rule which is any staff action that might affect a member should be discussed before the action is taken. On the rare occasion it's felt that posted content is racist or in some way unacceptable for a family friendly forum, it goes into moderation and then gets discussed.

The reason I like to work this way is what's considered acceptable changes over time which is why I like to have staff of differing age groups.

Any technical changes that affects the forum are also discussed but I generally do the work or hand it on to a server admin. It's also written up in a change log for future reference.

What I don't have is a list of dos and don'ts or how-tos for staff because they have never been needed.

A non-disclosure agreement?

More like an operating agreement. It defines who is in charge of various roles, what we are allowed to do independently, actions we can take with just a few staff members in agreement, and other actions that require 2/3's or unanimous vote.
