Let's say that someone sends you a link to a short video clip. What sorts of things draw you in so that you don't click off of it? What do you look for in the style of the video (I'm not asking about what kind of content you watch)? I would like to know if you watch videos that have people talking, or prefer music only? Or maybe you want the type at the bottom of the video to read? How long is too long?
Here's an example...my church has a community garden. If we were to make a short video to put on our YouTube channel to show others, what would make you want to watch it? What would deter you?

What a cool idea! Having highlights of what your Community Garden is about. I feel a short video gets people interested but you also want it to be as short as possible, say, 2 minutes to get the gist. Then a link can be shown at the end &/or in the description to have more detailed info.
I honestly prefer to read rather than watch. So when I watch something, I don’t want fillers. I want to get the main information right off the bat. THEN if I want to get further information, I would follow the link to the website where more pictures can be shown, what is grown, etc.
A little music in the background is fine but it can’t drown out the talking. Better is to have subtitles available.
What would make me want to watch a video is the length of time. What would deter me is seeing that it’s over 10 minutes long!
A Community Garden can be self-explanatory with a short video.
I'm the same way. The subject and whose presenting it has a chance of keeping me entertained. I can get bored watching a subject I'm into if the person who is presenting it doesn't make it interesting.
Well, normally I'm searching for something specific. For exampled, I normally listen to music on YouTube and I'll type in the band name. Then it'll pull up all the songs from that band/artist and I'll just click on the song I want to listen to.
