What feature do you wish was included on your forum?

Are there any features you wish you had for your forum? What features are missing that you think should be included in all forum softwares?

Live alerts. I love the sites that include that, I can leave a tab open, work on things and then instantly know when a new notification arrives and click over to that tab to see what it is. Helps me keep on top of things 🙂

I use Forumotion, would like to have a similar style to the feature websites and directory Xenforo has to offer.

I don’t currently run a forum but back when I did, I wish I had a points/rating system. I was never very good at the ‘back end’ of running a forum so never got around to trying to implement it.

Invision has some features they only unlock if you host with them - such as courses and a real time 'who is reading this topic right now'. The courses functionality is something I would like, but I will have to turn to a 3rd party because nothing justifies the cost of their community in the cloud packages when I have a fully functional server hosting several other sites already.

This is definitely my favorite feature. It really comes in handy when you're busy, you can keep track of who's replying to your posts/threads in real time. I know a few people who complain that forums aren't instant like other places, but live alerts fixes that!

Absolutely agreed, it's so handy to have the alerts pop up and let you know someone has responded or something needs attention. Invaluable feature, imo!
