...and why?

I use PhpBB3, not having any problems with it.

I have had a quick look at MyBB, it appears as if addons might be easier with that software.

Any feedback or other opinions appreciated.

I am pretty sure there is already a thread for this, just can't find it...

Well I am using phpBB

Addons are easier on MyBB if you can use cPanel or FTP (or equivalents like SFTP or Rsync). I use MyBB myself, but I have a spare IPB license as well.

I am currently using mybb and love it. However all of my favs are smf ipb and mybb.

We use PHPBB on Chatting Time. But I have a co-administrator as I am no hand at installing mods.

I am using phpBB and find it easy to do everything, even installing ads as long as you a programmer - and if you aren't you shouldn't be touching your forum software anyways.

Though, I have been doing a lot of little edits now, adding some custom made mods that I created and coded myself.

http://www.gamingallnight.com/forums/ even customized the theme a bit, though i might want to go off and add a lot of new things to it soon.

Thats kinda snuck up done you think?

phpBB, SMF, Drupal, MyBB and bbPress, though only the first two are running serious sites at the moment. SMF is far superior from a management standpoint, at least.

Vbulletin and IPB shall always be superior, I use Vbulletin and personly it is my favorite overall.

Why? because the mods are easy to install aswell as themes. The quality of the forums are great and it feels alot more pro as it's branded by Vbulletin.

The veriety of mods and themes are also great, I can pretty much find any mod that interests me.

I'm not using any freely/available software at the moment. I am coding my own CMS/Forum platform at the moment.

I am using MyBB on one website and a custom forum software / CMS on another.

I'm using SMF 2.0 and I must say I'm very pleased with it. I also have a phpBB3 board that has gone by the wayside, but it didn't cause me any problems either.

I currently use vBulletin 3.8.5 and I do not intend to change in the foreseeable future.

I refuse to upgrade to vBulletin 4 due to the staff changes at vBulletin, and the new writers' sloppy code. 3.8.5 is brilliant.

But on my site I also have a heavily modded social networking software installed, as well as WordPress review site.

Your fonts are way too big, but it looks pretty good. Good going. 😀
