Have we all lost your common sense? What are these kids being taught?

All around the internet I keep seeing people typing, for example, $25 as 25$. I see it in advertising for web hosts (severely unprofessional), when people want to buy and sell things and also in just general conversations. This is just the tip of iceberg - it seems like people's English skills (when it is their native language) on the internet and in real life are being forgotten.

Can anybody enlighten me? Do you agree or disagree?

I, too, get extremely pissed when I see $ after the actual amount. :/

I would say that people on the internet(specifically webmasters) are generally with the stupid.

I find it annoying too.

But correct me if I'm wrong, but don't some countries show their currency like that?

The Cent sign normally comes after the number, so I think it is just being lazy.

Sometimes its just people converting. Here in the UK we use £25 for example. I would normally have said $25 if I was working with USD and I am not used to the currency.

I agree with you Sam! It's really irritating seeing people not knowing how to write in proper English. I mean you don't have to use big fancy words to speak proper English. Just getting your verbs and stuff right.

Thank you someone points this out! Dude, this has been making me freaking mad! I wish these idiots would stop doing it!

It bothers me when people speak in text language. Plz, thx. That sort of stuff. It's not that hard to stroke a few extra keys. Things like missing commas or people using run-on sentences don't bother me too much. If you are being understood to the extent you intended, I don't think it should be ridiculously scrutinized. After all, we aren't writing essays.

 I'm wondering how many people here looked at their post to make sure everything was in order after they posted.

Hah, Mr. Money, you'll probably get a -rep for that. 😛

I haven't seen people do that yet, but that would make me think thye're ignorant.

Let's all make a Group called the GRAMMAR NAZIS!

Really, the Euro and whatever else that goes, for example, 1[eurosymbol], should be like that, but not the USD and pound, just no.

PLUS, aswell, it makes me mad. Scientific studies say that trained monkeys can type with perfect English grammar...I just forgot the link XD

Yo no hablo ingles...

Since "$" means dollar basically. Some people mean it like 25dollars as 25$. But it's just the way some people do it and there is nothing we can do about it. Doesn't bother me to be honest.

Yes, but having grown up with $number, we understand that it is number-of-dollars.

Number$ just looks ridiculous.

Honestly, if someone is stupid, it doesn't make me like them any less. What bugs me is when people don't use the sense with which they were born. As long as people are trying, I'm happy.
