What is a good tweet frequency?

What do you think is generally a good frequency for making posts on Twitter? Once a week? Once a month? I try to fire something off every now and then, but I also don't want to overload people with too much minutia.

If you're trying to get a following I'd say at least once a day. It can be difficult, but necessary if you're building an audience.

I say tweet everyday and more then once. five or maybe ten good tweets a day with hashtags and also tweeting other people. Ten tweets a day for some is an low number, I seen accounts that tweet over 100 a day 😱

That would be rude and counterproductive I think, assuming people are actually reading their Twitter feeds!

Over 100 tweets a day is overdoing it. Don't annoy your followers like that.

I'd say it does depend on what you're actually trying to push on Twitter but where I work for example, our rules are around 4-6 per day on Twitter if possible with some days having more and some less. I try personally to stick to five, I like to work by the rule of 80% informative, 20% actionable, so five makes it easier for my weak brain to keep track of!

Yeah, but most have it set automatic so that they can relax.

Memes would be stuff usually on other people's feeds being re-tweeted. However, I'd want to make sure most of the stuff tweeted was material from my own site. However, of course, you would need good material!

As-long as it isn't hard sell style every word is a hashtag lol

I usually aim for 3 a day. One in the morning, one in the afternoon, one in the evening. I'll usually try to aim for peak times (commute hours and lunch tend to be the highest for my audience). I'll try to retweet a couple of things throughout the day as well. I don't make all 3 of the posts about my site or anything. I usually try to do an advertisement maybe once every 2 days or so.

I would think once a day would be fine. I wouldn't want to tweet many times a day. I would think that would annoy people to death and become counterproductive.

A good tweet frequency for twitter is to post tweets 8-12 times a day with some good and catchy hashtags.

I would advice you to do 10+ tweets with hashtags. Also, do tweet on trending topic in your country. This will help you get more reach and audience.
