Hey guys im just wondering:
Whats the difference between a VPS and a semi dedicated server and
What is better OnShore (USA/AU) or OffShore? and which would be more secure as a hosting provider?

There is not much difference I don't think, its just a different way of saying it.

and the other thing.. well its really a matter of opinion.

As Damien said, one is a fancy word for the other.

Secure wise, Onshore hosting is more secure, but on Offshore you are allowed to host scripts that cannot be hosted in the USA

basically offshore hosting was used for those hosting which were out of US in past however in present days offshore hosting is used for those hosts who are flourishing over loopholes in their countries laws to allow illegal content etc. to be hosted

the safest offshore ones are of Netherlands
but if you are on pure and legal content then go for onshore

offshore are also pretty expensive

and the difference between VPS and Semi dedicated server is that you get a little of the control over the server not like dedicated servers where you control the whole server but you get some controls over it in semi dedicated servers while on VPS you can't control the Server
