And do you practice it? I'm Dutch but we don't speak the language nor do things for our heritage. Did go to a Dutch Festival a couple of times. We are known to be stubborn & pennypinchers as well as hard workers. Just ask my 83 y/o dad lol

I am American and have mostly German heritage. I don't speak German and grew up with a mother who knew German words and I didn't know that it was German, I thought she was making up silly words since no one else said those things and I was embarrassed. It wasn't until I was in high school and my friends were taking German class that I heard those words come up and I knew what they were LOL I wasn't so embarrassed anymore.

We ate a lot of German cooking growing up but my mom never used seasoning (is that a German thing???) and my dad always complained.

I'm American. Simple enough, since the question wasn't about heritage. 😀

@Joshua Farrell
Well, I put Heritage in my post so figure people may respond to both but my fault for not being more precise in my question lol

I am from the U.S., but my direct antecedents are all English or Irish.

Truth to say that most American people are all from Irish to Italian and African antecedents. Just think about that for a min, I mean back from the start where did the first people came from?
