Well, Melane and I have revamped Just Sayin' but it's too early for me to get another quick review...so while I wait, what do you guys think of the new forum? I am looking for honest, constructive opinions. If something sux, tell me -why- it sux. If something is really cool, tell me what is cool about it please. Thanks 🙂
The style is quite plain and the logo is very basic and simple. I didn't notice it until I actually I tried to look for it because it's very small and the corner of the site. The descriptions of the forums are way to long and they just go on, they could be shortened to 1/4 of the current length and it'd still make sense.
Also the forum names are confusing, at a glance it's not that easy to see what forum is for what. The names could be made much simpler and to the point. Lastly, activity is also bringing the site down. Make sure you promote, use some services here and get it known.
Thanks for the advise Dan. Thing is, I haven't really been able to think of a really great logo yet--and this header isn't as easy as most are to edit...so Melane and I haven't really had a chance to make something kick-ass yet.
I would like to ask you something about the board names and descriptions...the thing is, we wanted to make our board fairly unique, and have a bit of humor as well; so we didn't want to stick with the same old boring generic board names and descriptions we see every other forum having.
Do you think our descriptions and names accomplish this? Or are you pretty sure that they are doing more harm then good?
Finally, if you could recommend a really good lighter theme to use, we would greatly appreciate it. We've looked at a lot of light themes, but it seems that people don't put as much effort into making them. We've seen some damn awesome dark themes, but the light ones just don't seem to have the same effort put into them 🙁
