I like debates that don't end up in degradation or name calling. I don't mind debating politics or religion, but I find that my opponents resort to eventually do personal attacks. That's not debate.
The best ones for me are the ones that get extremely chaotic. Debates that end up going to wild places. Something like someone else joins in and completely the dbetae and suddenly it's an entirely different debate.
I like to debate on things that affect me as a person, I do this in hopes to educate others so they can possibly see things from my perspective. As long as they don't resort to name calling, then it's all in good faith.
Debates end up with people being called names and whatever else, so pretty much am weary of even doing debates. Political ones can be entertaining, though.
It's sad... though to be fair IMO the community shouldn't be a topic of debate. At least in a perfect world it wouldn't be, but sadly this world will never be perfect.
