This is different from my other thread where I asked what kind of forum you'd like to work for. What about the owners/Admins? What are your expectations of them in how they run the site and how they treat their staff?
Ones who are not control freaks and micro managers. I'd wanna work for a owner and admin team who are understanding, don't take their role/title too serious, and don't enforce strict rules and guidelines on staff or the members.
When I work for a forum I would hope that the admin/owner would let me know what they expect of me for the job so that I wasn't worried about whether I was doing a little or too much.
I currently work as staff on a few forums and with all of those I know what my role is and what they expect of me in terms of my job and that makes things run a lot more smoothly.
I definitely will not work with someone who is controlling or expects way too much that it starts affecting my life away from online and the forum I am staff on.
Similar to a workplace, I like a culture that's open and friendly, and where everyone feels part of the team be they a brand new moderator, or the owner of the board. I also quite like owners who get involved in the community, both contributing content and assisting with staff responsibilities - but not to a point where they micromanage or "takeover" the roles of the staff directly. In a group I tend to be a bit of a 'leader', so I appreciate the opportunity to present ideas and suggestions and have them taken seriously and considered
I prefer to work with an admin who is participating in the forum and who talks to the staff team actively. Open and friendly and they listen to input and feedback. 🙂
As long as the admins are people that are responsive especially to issues, then I will like to work for them. This is something that is very important to me.
I would like to work for admins that are kind and that listen to their staff team so we can all work together to make the forum an amazing community for all!
