What the topic title says.

What was the main factor that drove you to start your forum? Were you a part of a forum that made bad decisions and you decided to make a forum to do it right? Were you a staff member of a forum and you saw how fun it was so you wanted to make your own? Tell us your stories!

I'll start. My current forum was started a couple months after my first one died. My friend told me about cheap hosting ($5 a month) so my brother and I decided to make a website to make up for our dead one. The website software, php nuke, had forum software attached with it so we started there 😀

Your turn guys.

Erm, I suppose from the two years actually picking up and gaining knowledge from all expierenced members here and there ain't alot of unique graphic forums that offer what they should I felt the need to but thats me. Also I just liked to play around with graphics and caught some really good graphic designers.

To find people interested in rock/metal music. Back when I made Headbangers Haven I knew no-one into metal. And my taste in music was limited.

Now I have made friends with people all over the world... Online and Offline. I have also discovered so many other bands and other styles of music that I never though I would get into!

Lack of good unoffical forums for bands. Both bands that I have forums for used to have official forums (or still do to some extent), but since they are official, they can be taken down at any time. I wanted a way for fans to be able to talk about bands without having the forum disappear.
