The banner - it could be better.

The ad as soon as the page loads. First it's big and on a new forum.
You seem like a very rich guy from reading your posts earlier. Wait a couple of weeks before putting ads.

The forum icons aren't that good.

Thanks for the opinions. I agree with you about the icons and banner. I have put a graphics request topic up so I'll see how that goes.

As for the ads I do agree with you about them not looking the best but in the end some revenue to cover expenses would be nice so I'm thinking it's better they're there now so people can see them and accept them or not.

Also there placement is not 100% finalized. I hate ads myself so I will do my best to have them without being an annoyance for others.

Obligatory "Just my opinion".
For the page container I think it would look better with a shadow on both sides. Currently it's only on the right.
