I have a blog, Chernobyl.TV. It's all about the Chernobyl disaster, but plans have changed and I can no longer run the website.

Obviously, it's very niche, and I'm having trouble selling it. What do you think I should do:
a) Continue to try and sell it (if so, where could I list it?)
b) Extract the database and import it into my personal blog http://www.JDAB.co.uk
c) Close it down completely

Any feedback is more than welcomed.

It seems like a waste to simply shut it and its content down completely. However, with such a specific focus, I'm not sure there'd be many interested in its acquisition. If you don't succeed with A), then I'd go with B). Or simply keep the database on hand, safe and secure until you figure out what to do with it.

It is my belief that information should never go to waste. XgQN3QL.webp

Are there other sites in the same niche? You might be able to sell it those owners or someone frequenting those sites as guests. Other than that, I agree - it is very niche and will be hard to sell (especially around here).

If you can't sell it, you could simply leave it as is if you do want the content (instead of crowding your personal blog with a bunch of hyper-niche content).

I've contacted a few other sites but had no responses yet.

At a stump really, there are positives and negatives to putting the database on JDAB.co.uk.

Seems as though it'd be unnecessary clutter for a personal blog, as Geoffrey has stated above. And they would likely fade into obscurity if no focus is placed upon them. Although, if there are no other options to preserve the content, then by all means.

I'd personally take the database, store it on a USB drive or some such and see if you can't sell the content to similar blogs. Could take awhile, but it would be the most desirable course of action, I believe.

Can you sell ads via BuySellAds or other site? As you say, it's very niche, so maybe that would be a long shot. If that fails, I'd extract the databases and import to your current blog. I checked out your current blog and don't think the Chernobyl content would be very compatible with your current blog. However, you might actually have success by adding a 'natural/manmade' disasters section on your blog and cover all recent disasters such as any devastating earthquakes/typhoons, etc. You might only need a few such articles to round out that section. Hopefully one of those ideas will help you out. Let me know how it goes.
