What should I do?

I have a competitive forum. They are so competitive that now they are making up lies about me that are completely untrue just to try to make my forum die. I won't mention who because I won't get as low as they have. What should I do about this? They keep continuing creating more and more lies about me trying to make me look horrible when im not at all.

Exactly. Just a classic case of people being jealous. Of course, that's what I'd definetly do because I've never been in the forum owning hobby area for competition. I just wanted a forum where I could do updates and things the way I wanted, not the way someone else wants it.

If they have to make up lies about you that shows they are jealous and not as good as your forum. Ignore them and get on with you r forum is the best thing to do.

You might have to defend yourself though if it gets too serious. If they make up groundless claims about you and you simply ignore them, people may start to believe them unless you speak your truthful side of the story first.

Just make sure they have no access whatsoever to your forums. Ban their IPs, censor links to hate pages and malicious claims, etc.

if i was in your shoes i would find any way possible to become better than that forum, if he/she is trying to make your forum die find ways of preventing that and make your forum better than theirs. Look at who they are trying to appeal to. Maybe you are subconsciously thinking thousands of people are seeing that, when maybe 5 or 10 people are reading it. If they are not appealing to many people then ignoring would be a good way to go. If not then persuading the target that the accuser is wrong, say if they are making comments on their forum, so you should join and make a strong, professional statement. If you get banned, it will only make their forum look worse, so you need not worry there.

If things do really escalate, whether ignoring or intervening, you may be able to contact the host on the case of libel (similar to slander), and that this illegal activity could also get the host into trouble if the libelous content remains.

If you didn't do anything you can't just ignore him. He is most likely jealous of your forum and want you to shutdown but do not let him get space on your forum.

The thing is I am banned from that forum that made lies about me I was even moderator on it. Ever since I made my forum the owner of it started ignoring me then banned me and made some crazy lies about me but alot of people saw how nice I was and don't believe him anyway so I don't really worry much about it so I been ignoring it.

The only problem with that though is that a lot of forums these days have rules against coming on their sites via proxies, so if you're caught on a proxy, and if you were banned for being a troublemaker or something similar, this could actually get you in even more trouble than you're already in.

If you are in contact with enough members on their forum, they could always revolt. Eventually, their forum will be seen as the "bad" one.

I once did successfully threaten a suit for defamation and harassment against the host of a forum that was openly bashing me and trolling on my forum {not my forum now, this was another board} back in 2008--actually, I didn't even have to be aggressive or go as far as a threat--I just explained what was going on and just showed him the links, and it was all over. So yes, if the evidence is plain to see you CAN take it to their host--you have a good shot at getting them taken down just because many hosts don't want to risk supporting anything that could get them in legal trouble, it's a lot easier to just shut that particular board down.

As for the behaviour of these people, do what you have to to defend yourself and just keep being your nice wonderful self. People actually do tire of hanging out with someone who does nothing but bash somebody else. It gets old.

What you do is don't worry about it because the members at your forum now come on everyday even ones who were on that forum that banned you. This to me tells me that they don't care what others say about you. So keep pushing 'cause RankUpForum is awesome.
