I use the following Social media websites. What do you guys use?

Forum Promotion
Facebook
Google Plus

I use Google Plus

Free Forums promotion site (our hosts)

Forum Promotion, and have our links on various other forums on our network.

I use Twitter and Facebook for promotion. I've also made the rounds on various promotion forums and online directories.

I don't use any. People who use social media are less likely to join a forum than people who use other forums, so I try to promote using forums as much as possible. 🙂

I concur with that, I have had little success on social media, the competition with Face book etc is impossible to compete with.

I get allot of sign ups to my sites from Facebook alone. I get traffic from stumble upon and Google plus but no sign ups.

i use hootsuite that posts to google+, twitter, linkedin, and facebook at the same time for all my posts. i get 30 visitors everytime because people see it on the first page of those networks. many times a day and for old posts, people are interested in them

Agree. At the beginning, social media is not the mainstream method as you just get few followers. It needs a long-term continuous buildup.

I think this actually depends. I'll agree, the majority of people on social media don't know what forums even are. However, if used properly, you can reach some forum-goers who are outside of your niche; and if you're lucky, you might even introduce someone to the forum world!

Like I've said before, it's all dependant on who you're advertising to, and how you go about it. A lot of people are interested in blogs, so if you share an article and there's a clear connection to your forum, you might score yourself a regular visitor. 🙂

its just a social media manager, a site where you can have networks in one place. theres a filezilla toolbar thing you can just hit one button while on your post and several networks get posted to at once

I use the following Social media websites facebook, twitter and social bookmarking

Thank you mate, I will check it out. 😎

I use regular forum posts compared to social media to promote my websites. Forums like this is more beneficial and fruitful to advertise your products and services.

Nicely put but I do have to counter that by saying people who use social media could also use forums! I am sure a lot of people here use social media...but we also use forums 😀

So I think what your saying is true, but it doesn't necessarily mean they don't use forums 🙂

Now I am not running any social promotion because the benefit I gain from it is not good as 2 years before. Now, I do forum seeding to promote my blogs

We've always had the best of luck with promoting via Facebook. That's where most of our regular members were discovered.

I'm considering using Twitter and YouTube more, but I don't have the motivation to update them. For Twitter, I did install a plugin that automatically reposts forum threads. That's better than nothing.
