What social media site works best?

I am slowly moving away from solely doing social media. One of my main driving forces in stating my own forum is I have talked to many people experiencing the same things I am... and some of it is mentioned here.

No doubt, Social Media can be an asset to help build a business, but it is very saturated and full of scams, spam and poop. Sucks to post something in a group to have it 15 seconds, 100 posts deep... Also, I am sick and tired of the picture after picture of cash or money.

The trick is all in your content and how your using it.. Any method will bring eyeballs, its just what kind of eyeballs you brought to your posts.

I found and started using Google+ a couple weeks back.. I love it. Though I am seeing similar issues with it as I saw with other social media, there's no discussion.. post after post of generic crap.. boring.

Depends on where your target customers are, for ex pinterest works best for girls meanwhile google+ is base of a lot of men.

It would actually depend on what audience you wanna target
and with what kind of product/service.
In general FB works for all.

If you target Females, go for pinterest which has 85% female userbase.
Google+ you should definitely have your presence on as it helps in indexing fast.
Hope it helps.

From my experience and in helping promote other businesses via social media, I find a method of driving people using a combination of social media platforms but intended in the following.

The below works for SEO / Social Media content

Twitter - Traffic Driver (Fast Pace - Tweets last 5-7 seconds on some timelines)
Facebook / Linkedin - Content Driver
Other social media sites

---- social media to the following below
Sub-Sites / Power Sites - These could be like free blogs they filter out the bounce rate from your core website giving you better page rank and converting genuine traffic and prevents negative rankings for people coming and leaving the site instantly. This means you get genuine visitors who are interested in your selected niche content and then come to your website.

Social Media -> power site1 niche(example computers) -> Core website (always link to inner content not main page)
Social Media -> power site2 niche(example PC Parts) -> Core website (always link to inner content not main page)
Social Media -> power site3 niche(example Coding/web coding)-> Core website (always link to inner content not main page)

---- Final content and conversions
Website - Final resting place / Full Content

Using twitter to drive traffic to drive content you are webbing it to get higher targeted visitors to your other social media sites and your core website and generating a better flow of funneled traffic.

Most part of it all do not hard sell and talk about things that will interested people within your targeted niche.

Its a tested and worked method for some marketing campaigns that i have done but for community forums may be different so if anyone has experience in this method please feel free to update any missing parts that i have not yet spoke about.

Hope this helps.

Out of all the major social media site (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, ect). Which one would you say has done the best to gain you members?

It all depends on the type of content you are promoting...

Facebook - In depth articles
Twitter - Short snappy, viral posts
Instagram/ Pintrest - Image heavy content

You have to really have a brand account on all the SM platforms. Choose the platform that best suits your niche and content. E.g. Photography and image publishing blogs, should definitely saturate pintrest and instagram, thats where the audience that is interested in images lie.

In my opinion new articles and forum topics get shared through all my brand social media accounts. It maximises the exposure that the content will recieve. Hopefully, this attracts uniques and the member conversion rates sit around 5%. 5 members for every 100 visits is a fantastic ratio! This is what I hope to achieve on my community forum anyway 🙂

Out of all the major social media site (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, ect). Which one would you say has done the best to gain you members?
None. They don't really gain you members, it does happen though (but its rare).

Instagram or Snapchat
Doesn't help that much, people see it and like and and follow you on Instagram but they don't read the information and norr see the link

Well your question cannot be answered directly. All social networks bring back traffic to your website
But what will ultimately work for you depends on what you have to offer, what kind of image do want to portray for your company, what is your target audience etc. What works for one might not work for the other. From my personal experience, Facebook worked for me when I was working for a webcasting firm.

According to me:
1. First is Facebook
2. Second is Pinterest
3. Third is tie between Twitter and Instagram.
