What software should I use?

Well I am making a Promotion / Webmaster Forum/Site, and I just need help on what software I should use.

I was thinking about using either phpBB or MyBB, but I can't find really any good professional looking themes for either of these board softwares.

If someone can give me advice on what software to use, and maybe point out a good theme to use also it would be greatly appreciated!

If you can afford it a paid script give a professional air to any forum; especially one which is going to appeal to webmasters. XenForo is the current 'go to' solution. Then you have vBulletin and IPB.

Failing that, I've seen some really good looking forums created on SMF and MyBB. I'd avoid phpBB but then that's just me.

If you have the money for a paid software then I would go for Xenforo. If you would prefer to start off with a free forum software then I recommend Mybb.

For free softwares, I wouldn't recommend smf or phpbb at this moment and this is because I don't think smf is that good and phpbb don't yet have a forum cash extension for their latest version. However our development team is working on one.

Well primarily I'm going to use IPB, but this is just more as a back up plan because IPB support team is being really bad today and me and my friend are trying to get the key fixed 😛
