What spam?

What type of spam do you get the most? Here at FP its about Sildenafils and man from somewhere that gives you the best advice on relationships.

I had one guy that joined 4 to 5 times under an different Ips and email address posting very disrespectful topics and was spamming. that went on for an week then I ended it for good and since then I haven't had any

Usually i used to get random medications posts and herbal posts but since improvements in spam prevention's now its quick and easy to put a stop to these now 🙂

It used to be Michael Kors or Porn sites, oh and don't forget the Penis Enhancement bots. On an ANIME forum with a PG 13 rating... LOL!

These days, I see very few bots. New site is too tiny to attract them in large volumes. XD. I think the spam prevention is doing it's job as well though.

I've seen a lot of the ones already mentioned here... Medications, hand bags/Michael kors knock off sites, etc.

I haven't seen one yet that goes around spamming about relationship advise yet though.

Haven't had any spam in our 5-year history. IPS does a good job of blocking them.

Very random spam, some tends to be about visiting a website or two, other times I find them just making accounts and trying to fill out fields that don't exist with spam (bio, signature, etc.).

One common piece of spam on my past forums has been advertisements for the medication/vitamin supplement Viagra. It's usually easy to tell if it's bots posting. Delete posts, ban the bot and voila! No more ads about Viagra and it's so called benefits. If I want to know badly enough about side effects or what it can do for me, I'll ask my doctor or if it's not a prescription I'll look it up online. My forum is a general discussion forum...not a pharmacy forum

I'm always looking at for spam but glad to have an system to deal with that other then real humans
