What technology could be obsolete in 10 years?

Pagers used to be all the rage 20 years ago...maybe even 15 years ago people were still using them? But now no one uses them to my knowledge.

What kind of technology could be obsolete in the next 10 years?

I got to admit landline phones won't be a thing. It's still here among us but fewer people have them since it's all mobile and since less household has them the cost of a normal call on your homophone has gone up more than a call on your mobile.

We still have a homophone but it never gets used.

I don't know about that. A lot of business' still rely heavily on landlines to communicate with their customers.

Honestly I can see standalone Roku devices becoming obsolete. Many televisions have them built in now, my tv is a roku tv. Eventually in the future I think companies are going to stop producing stand alone Roku devices, it'll be cheaper for them in the long run.

That's a good possibility. We've seen many companies merge together before. They could possibly be acquired by Amazon in the future. 😛

Hrmmm, debatable, many don't need it but some still like to have it, specially people with young kids they don't want to have cell phones yet. Landlines will always be used in offices.

Electric power equipment is on the rise for yard work, I'm sure in time there won't be any gas but that is still 20 years away.

That's gonna be true. Roku is working on their own TV's with full compatibility with their TV software (apps).

No. We don't have reliable replacements for it. We're not "there" yet. China has Electric Vehicles (EV's) but they're not reliable. In fact they're exploding. Burning.

Those EV's were battery-powered.

As much as I hate to admit it.. I think all forms of optical discs(CD,DVD,Blu Ray) will be completely done away with in favor of digital formats... I hope that I am wrong.

With the rise of biometric identity to validate payments, I really have a strong feeling that physical debit and credit cards would fade away in the next ten years.
