My computer keeps going click mania, it clicks randomly all over the screen at a really fast rate then after about 20 seconds stops, Norton doesn't pick up a virus, wth is wrong with my computer?

Are you using a touchpad or a mouse?

It's got one of those balls in it.

Aaah, try taking out the ball, then cleaning the area that houses the ball, and blow any dust off the ball- I used to get that problem.

Done that but why should that make the clicking?

The dust can spread sruond in the mouse, which can jam parts of it 😛

also when you clean the ball do clean the two rollers near it too they don't to get a nasty layer of filth which resists movements.

Problem 1: Norton.
I know a friend that had Norton and it detected itself..Norton..as a virus. No lie. Dead serious.

Problem 2 (the real issue): I have had this happen to me before. It could possibly be dust, but it could also be battery issues..or one screwed up mouse.

It sounds like you have some spyware on your computer and possibly a rootkit.

As for norton not detecting anything that is normal since most malware makers use norton as the primary target to bypass.

You should first download and install malwarebytes free edition found here - http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwa ... i_malware/

Scan in both normal and safe mode!!

After that if it has found anything wait a little bit and see if the problem has gone away.

If it is still there run this - http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208283363

This program will scan for Rootkits and remove any it finds.

If it finds anything let it remove it and reboot your computer.

After that everything should be fine.

If the problem still happens,your mouse is simply dying and you need a new one.
