I've always wondered how that part of things worked, lol, I figured there would be "traffic jams," but I can imagine just how awful it is having to navigate that!We have Amish living in the area, so the family enjoys seeing them, but yesterday on the way home from an outing, we encountered hundreds of buggies returning home from their worship services. It's a nightmare when you're trying to drive 55 and then have to constantly stop and then have enough room to get around them without spooking the horses, and watch out for hills because you don't know what's up around the curve. It's intense.

Yeah, that's very worrying! Hopefully local authorities can find a solution!I fear for them, especially when there is a buggy filled with children and the impatient jerks can't wait until after they crest the hill to see and go around. There have been far too many fatalities due to impatient drivers.
We have dinner a few times a year and that's it.What kinds of things do you do when family comes to visit?
I can relate. Me and my siblings found homeless people sitting around fascinating to stare at when we were kids.We have Amish living in the area, so the family enjoys seeing them,
Distance is always a tough one, but never say never! They may yet turn up on your doorstep one day!I moved to Australia over a decade ago. I used to fantasize about what we'd do and where I'd take them. What cool places that I thought they would love. Mum has never been to the beach, there's one less than two hours of where I live. My younger brother would surely enjoy the theme parks around. My dad would like the zoo and the giant park near the city. Mum would love the garden there.
At this point I kind have come to accept that most likely they will never actually visit me. It is a depressing thought for sure, but I can't avoid seeing the time going on and taking a toll on all of us. At least technology lets me talk to them from time to time.
Run? Hide? What kinds of things do you do when family comes to visit?

Most of the time, we just have dinner or a drink while watching a TV show. And, of course, talk to each other.
I'm tired so I read "talk over each other" and then I thought, that's what my husband's family does!
