I have $13 in my Paypal account and Paypal said I have exceeded my $500 spending limit. Problem is, I'm $497 away from that. I know $13 isn't a lot to some people but to me it is. They are not responding to my emails and everyone in their community forum is being an a$$ to me.

What should I do?

To start off, I don't think they are scamming you, they haven't taken any money from you in a malicious manner. If I ever have an issue with them, like with BillMeLater saying I have a spending limit of $50, when in fact it's $1,000, I called them up and they were really quick and easy to deal with. I would do the same thing. Grab the support number and it'll give you a passkey to use.

Lucky, how did you "call them up" when PayPal doesn't have phone support?

PayPal does have phone support. I call them all the time.

My account is unvertified.

I'll see if I can call them, but emailing is usually the best for me.

Well it might be because your account isn't verified ? As said previusly just send them an email or call them 😀 they answer quickly .

I emailed them a week ago, then I emailed them again 5 days ago.

Give them a call, I always get through really quickly 🙂

Paypal not scam there in your account tells you what need do increase the limit normal case adding bank detail, card and verifying you as person this there stop people ripping users off and very easy resolve and the limit might be $500 but per year believe so might $13 now in your account but have had different amounts in there different times if so need include that.

$13 is the most that's ever been in my account.

And I've only sent out $2 something and they say its $500.

Maybe your account is hacked or something?

Step out of your comfort zone and do the call. If they are ignoring your calls maybe a polite call will help shed some light on what is going on.

I hope things get solved and they rectify the error or explain better what was wrong so you can pass that obstacle. Sorry to hear about this.

You need to verify your account to go any further than the first sending of money. I had an unverified account before and I did send money once, but then after that I couldn't. Just connect a credit card or your bank account.

Paypal will not scam you, they only want verification.
This is also some protection for you as there is less and less hacked paypal coming my way so it pays off in the end.
They can't afford to end up like liberty reserve for example.

There are only two real solutions here. One is to verify your account. If you are less than 18 and do not want to link a credit card, consider linking your bank account with it. Mine is linked to my checking account, and I think it could work with savings as well. If you don't have a banking account, you could easily open one up. The other solution is to call up PayPal, however I feel like they will just tell you to verify your account, which takes you back to what I first said.

I called them, the rep was extremely nice. He said an unvertified can't send to another unvertified.
