Well there are many of the same forums out there currently. My question to you all here at Forum Promotion is what type of forum would you like to see more of? Select an option in the poll and if you choose other post a type below.

I'd like to see a few more game development forums. You see a lot of game discussion ones, but not many about development where people can share tools and resources with one another.

Good point. Brings me back to the day when I used to own a game development forum (on forumotion) Did not do too well though. Do you not feel game developers are too hard to get onto a new forum?

Depends on how you advertise it because there is definitely a market available. However, I can imagine it would be a hard thing to promote if you don't already know a few people that would want to contribute and don't know a few things yourself. I know a fair few aspiring developers from University who I am sure would appreciate something along those lines but I haven't come across a place that seems to provide discussions and support for those kinds of people.

I do see a couple around for people with some experience already, but no real 'training ground'-type areas, let alone ones run by people that know what they are talking about.

In addition to this, I think people are also worried that people will steal their ideas and don't go on forums to seek help or advice because of that.

Good points there. Suppose you are right. I am wondering wheater to give that forum another go on real hosting.

Up to you. I'd probably join and help where I can.

If I were to recommend anything before doing it though, I would definitely research and even try using some of the available tools (such as engines) and resources available so you can speak to people about them.

And I don't mean ones like Game Maker (although its a great platform for starting out). I mean the more powerful and professional ones that aspiring game developers will likely be using, like Unreal Development Kit and Unity.

I hav eused game maker and Unity before so I have some of the skills!

Suppose that is a kinda good idea but from a leader of a city should start them not members of the public.

I think a good forum to have would be a combo TV and Movie/Film forums. I don't really see any TV & Movie/Film forums.
