For me it was Windows 95, I was about 6 years old and I can remember the start button for the first time and the log on sound was fantastic. The start screen, really great. The OS that changed computers for ever, it wasn't XP, it was 95.

Yes XP was the first OS, that had a business and home edition. Not 2 seperate OS's like ME and 2000. Was the first Windows OS not to be MS DOS based.

But 95 introduced a lot more IMO.

Your first operating system ever used?

Windows ninety something, I believe, was the first OS I ever used.

Mine was Apple... back when it was known as Macintosh. That was when you literally had to insert a System Startup Floppy Disk in order to turn on the computer. I remember my Dad buying it for me when I was like 8 at a yard sale. I used to play golf and the paint program. 🙂

Windows XP I think, but I don't remember for sure. It may have been '95, since XP only came around in 2003 I think.

Xp came out in mid 2001.🙂

Everyone hated, it when it first came out.

Ah, then XP may have been my first OS, not sure. 😛 Definitely ended up using it for a while. Not a bad OS, although had some flaws that they ended up correcting in 7.

Poor Microsoft. No one likes their OSes when they're first released, unless the one before really, really, sucked, then they're kinda relieved. xDD I remember when they upgraded MS office to use the ribbon UI instead of the dropdown menus. 😛

Yes, everyone was happy when 7 came out, because Vista, which came out in 2007 was bad, but it was better with a service pack. I am pretty sure it's the same with 10 too, because 8 was bad and most people didn't upgrade to 8.1, which was amazing, stayed on 7.

It's Windows 95 my first OS that I used back in 2000. After that was XP and then 7 to 8.1 to Windows 10.

I have played around with Windows three, and damn that was good for the age. I haven't got around to play with Windows one

D.O.S (My parents gave me their old DOS computer with some games when I was 6. Then I got a 95 computer in 2000 (again my parents old computer).

2004 would see me get my very own brand new computer with windows XP and the rest is history

ChromeOS is the first OS on a laptop/computer of my own however I've used others.

The one I don't remember much about is Windows 3.1, though the one I really remember is Windows 98.

Again this as a kid as i was anyway, did not do a heck of alot that i was interested in at the time anyway, could place a couple of games on it. And do a couple of other various functions. In the 80s though i was not much interested in computers

Final note: Ya i am old lol

Interesting, we had those clear iMacs when I was in kindergarten. But we went to WinXP machines the next year.

The first GUI used was Windows 95 back playing games on my Dad's computer in my school days.

If it was 2005, then it must of have been XP, because Vista didn't come out until 2007.

Ah, probably. xD

If I remember correctly, it was Windows 98. Now thinking about it, it makes me feel so old. I was a kid back then. 😱
