We had WebTV. It was actually cool because we could sit comfy on our couch. Problem though, it tied up the phone line & was extremely slow. This was in 2000 or so. Anybody remember WebTV?

We got internet somewhere in 2000. Not sure when. I almost got used to it that I feel it was always there.

There were a few news websites we wanted to use. And also for academic research.

I do remember WebTV and it was going to be answer when I saw your topic! I remember my older brothers convincing my Dad to buy it and I thought it was so cool. I remember them letting me print out a couple of Rugrats coloring pages. When I was able to have a turn I would listen to short music clips, I thought it was the coolest thing.

I remember also getting those free trial AOL CD ROMS and I would get online and play jigsaw puzzles.

*sighs* simpler times.

Home internet for me when I started using it from home was a mobile network. The local box was full and so in the meantime, my home couldn't be connected. They say that may have to wait for months or more. So for most of the time in six years, I had to use Poor mobile network data 🙁 Upload/download was so bad.

Did the job, played online games when I was not studying. most of the time I was not home and at college or UN. Before that was dailup. THis was back in 2009 till 2016

Having DSL for the first time that was better than dial-up.

My first experience was using Yahoo to search websites and do my geography homework. I remember having to research Taiwan and Puerto Rico for 2 different presentations back in middle school.

I don't remember what was the first thing I did when I first visited the internet. When I first visited the internet, we had dial up at the time.

As far as I can remember, the internet was so slow to the point that only one user gets to use it properly. It is also kind of expensive. Well, back then I just watch videos in super low quality and talk to my friends on MSN.

Most likely I was watching my brother play videogames, and once they bought another computer for me, it was playing Diablo II and browsing social media. Nothing more interesting I think 😛

Back in the 90's when I was still in early education. Between the recent move of the time, my father starting his online writing career and moving to a school that actually had a computer room dedicated to introducing kids to using computers and learning how to use them and doing certain stuff; I'd say my first time experiencing the internet, was basically around the age of 8, back in the mid 90's.

I remember when AOL first launched and I was excited, until it took forever to connect and then you got kicked off when the phone rings.

We got it when Windows 95 came out, had dial up and had to listen to than dreaded thing trying to connect, then getting ICQ as my first chat program😡
