What was your first forum software?

Forumotion (phpbb2) first, afterwards phpbb3 and then vbulletin

In an ideal situation you're right, but I neglected to mention it was over 2.4Ghz Wireless G WiFi at about 35-40ft range with multiple walls in between. Not the worst by 2.4Ghz means, but it definitely was not a good connection to host a website off of.

That is a lot of layers of overhead lol

It was pretty awful haha. Everyone complained about slow speeds. I think I ran the forum for like 2 weeks lol.

I used IcyBoards. It's now closed down, but it was a pretty good MyBB free host. That's how I got used to the MyBB software and that's also where I got started in forums.

The first software I used for my own forum, was ProBoards V3, and that version was terrible. I did love the heck out of that bulky hard to work with version of ProBoards, as I did do some of my initial best forum creation on that modified version of YABB.

phpBB it was on some forum host that I don't even think exists anymore. It was the early days of phpBB3. I registered for the forum and stared blankly at the admin panel because I didn't know what the heck anything was. 😛

Phpbb. Well, actually, it was the phpbb that came with my phpNuke installation. It took me about a week to move to separate phpBB, without losing members and posts. Oh my, what years 😀

Forumotion for me. I built a Club Penguin fan forum on it after being a member on another for a while. This was probably when I was around 8ish

First forum I worked on as staff was using IPB or some early version of that. Then, I started my own site using myBB. Gave it up and became staff on a vBulletin site where I remained for a long, long time becoming admin there. Eventually ending up on Xenforo, which we're currently using.

My first-ever forum ran phpBB 2.0.3 in 2003.

Before moving to ProBards my first was xsorbit, but they're support was far from satisfactory or it went really down hill.. I can't quite remember which as this was about 2001/2002 ish.
