Enough talking about everyone else's likes in a forum. But what do YOU like in a forum? What makes you want to join? Is it the design? or Maybe how tight the community is?

Answer here.

I usually join for the activity and content. If it is a nice looking forum with a good style and topic, but is dead then I will not join.

But if everyone had that attitude then no forums would get off the ground surley?

yes that's why not everyone has that attitude.

I have yet to see a community that i really like, there is only one right now. I look for good people. People that are really close, not a huge community like FP, but smaller so everyone knows everyone else.

Friendly community, Activity, Content, Members with similar music tastes - especially if I can promote my forum.

I like active forums based on topics I like and enjoy, plus a friendly community is always a good plus.

If the blog/forum has great content like: http://www.dennisedell.com/ . Even if it has a sucky theme. If the content is good then Ill probably join.

Sounds like my main interests. Also I look for a friendly community. Doesn't have to be really active either. As long as there are even just a couple of people posting at a time, that still gives me someone to talk to, which is what I mainly look for.

I join is it have a interesting topic or subject, and decide if i'll register are not.

I don't just join forums for the fun of it. If I see a long term purpose or potential then I will join.

I will join a forum, if the goal they set is reached. Also have a good stable community posting around, friendly staff willing to help, and hugs and cookies.

I'd say the community is the most important thing for me. The theme has to be something I'm interested in though. 😛
