What's a counter-offer in domaining?

O.K. I think that means you make a price and someone offers a higher price. But it cannot mean a lower price, right? Please correct me, though, my ignorance is silly.

Conter-Offering is basically offering a higher or lower price, based on the potential value placed on the item. A higher counter-offer isn't always the best counter-offer, and that ofcourse goes the same way with a lower counter-offer. It all depends on how the value is put on a particular item, like a domain.
