I use Vectr which is free but at the moment it does all I need it for, i'm looking to go more advanced and bigger soon but i'm confused, any good ideas that isn't going to cost me a small fortune?

imagemagick appears to be an image editing software rather than something that would be used for Vector illustrations. For image editing, I highly recommend GIMP as the ultimate free alternative to Photoshop.

Personally, I only use Adobe Illustrator for vector graphics, so I can only give you an idea of what's out there. I'm a professional designer, so luckily my workplace pays for my software. lol.

If you're looking for freebies. Try Inkscape or SVG edit. These two are mainly for web based stuff, but they might suit your needs.

Affinity Designer is $50. I haven't used it personally, but I've seen it mentioned quite a bit. Seems to be quite new and it's affordable. https://affinity.serif.com/en-us/designer/

I would agree with 2 commentators above and suggest adobe illistrator as well. Really popular and powerful tool.

I am not good with GIMP but it is said an alternative to Adobe Illustrator.
I mostly use Inkscape for any kind of design. Banner, advertising, feature image, logo, icon...

Both are free.

I feel Illustrator from Adobe is a very useful and somewhat easy to use software for vector graphics; It does require a learning curve but if you've used other Adobe products or Graphic Design suites, it should be somewhat easy to pick up 🙂

Check out Affinity Designer, it's really good and a cheaper alternative than Adobe Illustrator, and they have plenty of video tutorials.
