A few thoughts:
- Getting People Involved: Do you think it's simpler to get people interested in a forum that used to be active, or is it better to build a community from the ground up with new members?
- SEO and Visibility: Starting fresh has no advantage for SEO. There isn't any. But it makes it easier to start doing SEO the right way. How do you think each option affects your site's visibility on search engines?
- Content Issues: What about managing content? Is it helpful to have a bunch of old posts and threads, or can that sometimes be more of a headache than a help?
- Technical Aspect: Are there tech-related pros and cons to each option? Like, dealing with outdated software and broken links in an old forum versus setting up everything new with the latest tools.
